2018 was quite a year for us here at Directed Energy (formerly IXYS Colorado and, more formerly than that… Directed Energy)!
You may know that IXYS was acquired by Littelfuse in January of 2018.
During the integration of IXYS technologies into Littelfuse, I had the opportunity to purchase Directed Energy and the associated laser diode driver and high voltage pulse generator business.
As of December 28th, 2018; Directed Energy, Inc. is now an independent, privately held company.
We’ve Come Full Circle!
In 2000 the shareholders of Directed Energy (including myself) sold the company to IXYS.
During 18 years with the IXYS companies we introduced numerous new RF Power components including the lower cost plastic package.
We also continued to produce, sell and innovate in the laser diode driver and high voltage pulser business under the Directed Energy brand.
As the integration of IXYS into the Littelfuse family progressed, the opportunity to reacquire the Directed Energy business made sense for Littelfuse as well as for myself and my team.
What does this mean to you?
The IXYSRF MOSFET and MOSFET Driver products will remain part of Littelfuse.
Here at Directed Energy, we are looking forward to focusing our energy on designing, supplying and supporting the laser diode drivers and high voltage pulsers and working with customers like you that use them.
You’ll still be working with the same great team, though our contact information has changed a bit.
